Friendship cake (this recipe is from the 70's)
Makes 8 bread mold
Cooking 60 minutes
Oven temperature 325° F

You will need:

Ingredients:

  • 6 cups white sugar
  • 1 can of 28 ounces peaches in pieces
  • 1 can 19 ounces crushed pineapple
  • 2 jars of red or green maraschino cherry (or 1 of each) cut in 2
  • 2 to 3 cups crushed walnuts (nuts / raisins / mixed dates)
  • 1 1/2 cup apricot Brandy (Apricot Brandy)
  • 4 boxes of Betty Crocker vanilla cake mix with puding (or super moist)
  • 16 medium eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups vegetable oil

Preparation of the culture (starter):

In the jar put:

  • 2 cups of white sugar
  • 1 can 19 ounces of peaches in pieces with the juice

Mix together
Mix every day for 10 days

  • add 2 cups white sugar
  • 1 can 19 ounces pineapple crushed or in pieces with the juice

Mix every day for 10 days

- 20th day

  • add 2 cups white sugar
  • 2 jars of maraschino cherries cut in half with the juice

Mix together
Mix every day for 10 days

- 30th day

you will get 4 jars of 1 1/2 cup of starter juice (culture) of which you keep 1 for your cakes and 3 that you can give to friends (es)

* This juice (culture) should be used within 2 or 3 days (do not freeze) but can be kept refrigerated

Cake preparation

In a large bowl put:

  • 1 1/2 cup starter juice
  • Add the strained ​​fruits
  • Add 2 boxes of cake mix
  • Add the nuts (or the nut / raisin / date mixture)

  • Add 1 1/2 cups of vegetable oil
  • 2 boxes of cake mix

Add this mixture to the first and mix well with a wooden spoon
Pour into 8 greased baking molds Important to only put halfway up otherwise the mixture could overflow
Bake at 325 ° F for 60 minutes (important not to open the oven door while cooking)
The cakes will have doubled in volume
You can freeze the cakes if desired
