Well known to the Chinese, the musk mallow or musk-mallow Malva moschata still appears today on the Asian menu, presented in salad or cooked like spinach. In the sixteenth century, the musk mallow, then called omnimorbia, meaning "panacea", was one of the ingredients used in the composition of two famous recipes of herbalists: the tea of the four flowers and the herbal tea of the seven species.
