For a home that smells good

Here are some recipes for slow cooker which will perfume your home!

Potpourri simmering gives home a warm and inviting atmosphere, especially if you use scented spices like cinnamon, star anise and cloves.

Cinnamon sticks, slices of citrus and spices

Instructions: simply fill the crock pot with water, add your favorite ingredients and simmer all day. This will also help to moistening the house.

The recipes that follow are merely suggestions, you can use different amounts and mix ingredients as you wish.

Orange peel, grapefruit, lemon and lime peels, apple peel that you'll have dried beforehand and assorted spices.

Experiment to find your favorite scents!


Fill the crock pot with water and bring to a boil. Add your favorite recipe ingredients, simmer all day. Add water when needed.

Tip: Place a timer to remind you to add water to make sure that the slow cooker is no shortage of water and if you need to leave the house make sure to unplug the appliance.

  • Cinnamon sticks
  • Apple peels
  • Orange peel
  • 3-4 Nails of whole cloves

Recipe #2

  • Juice or Apple peels
  • 1 or 2 sticks of cinnamon
  • 4-5 Whole cloves nails

  • Vanilla (a few drops)
  • Orange peels

  • A handful of needles of pin
  • 2 sticks cinnamon
  • 2 whole cloves nails
  • 2 Bay leaves
  • 2 pieces of orange peel
  • 2 pieces of lemon peel

  • 2 whole cloves nails
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 2-3 star anise
  • 1 orange peel

  • 3-4 Nails of whole cloves
  • 1-2 nutmeg nuts
  • 1 piece of ginger

  • 4 tbsp. list of cloves

  • 4 tbsp. list ground ginger or 1 piece
  • 2 cinnamon sticks

  • 6 whole cloves nails
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 tsp. the vanilla

  • 1 cup dry Lavender
  • 1 tsp. anise
  • 1 nutmeg nuts
  • 1 tsp. whole cloves
  • 1 cinnamon stick

  • 2 sticks cinnamon
  • Peel of one lemon
  • Fresh Rosemary
  • 2-3 Whole cloves nails

Recipe #14

  • 2 cups dried Rosemary
  • 2 cups dried Lavender
  • 1 cup dried eucalyptus leaves
  • 1/2 cup dried Mint Peppermint or green
  • 1/2 cup dried Bay leaves

 Directions: Mix ingredients and pour into an airtight jar, keep the jar in a dark place for at least a month before using. Add then 1 cup of mix with 3 cups of boiling water.

Recipe #15

  • 1 cup of dried Lavender leaves
  • 4 cups of dried rose petals
  • 1 tsp. anise
  • 1 tsp. of ground nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. of whole cloves
  • 1 cinnamon stick (broken into pieces)
  • 1 piece of ginger
  • 5 drops Jasmine oil
  • 5 drops patchouli oil
  • 5 drops rosemary oil

Directions: Mix all ingredients and store in a container glass at least 1 month before use (keep in a dark place). Fill the crock pot halfway with water, add 1 to 2 cups of Potpourri stuff

Storage: You can refrigerate your recipe and re - use every day for up to a week. Just add water when needed.

Economic idea: If you have Apple juice of cranberry, herbs or spices that are outdated, do not throw away add them simply to your slow cooker.

To open the appetites: make fresh bread, a cake, fry an onion or place an onion in the oven to warm up. The smell will give appetite to each one at meal time.

Other suggestions:

For those who would be reluctant to use a slow cooker there are also diffuser in which you can deposit potpourri or essential oil, chandeliers and sconces that you can use with scented candles.
